Peter Connor, Devoted Family Man and Beloved Port Hacking Sailing Club Member, Dies Unexpectedly While Sailing in NSW

Peter Connor passed away unexpectedly while sailing the Heron dinghy he loved, leaving family, friends, and the Port Hacking Open Sailing Club community in deep sorrow.

Peter was known for a lasting love of the water and a deep commitment to family.

Their passing has created a profound loss for Peter’s wife, Rose, and their two sons, Stewart and James.

A fundraiser organized by Sharyn Roberts asks the community to support the family as they face funeral and memorial expenses, urgent home repairs, and daily living costs during this painful time.

The fundraiser describes Peter as someone who showed kindness to everyone they met, and loved ones now hope to surround the family with that same care.

The appeal also notes that Rose continues to care for James and now faces major responsibilities without Peter’s income and support.

Family members plan to announce obituary and memorial service details at a later time.

Peter’s memory remains close to those who knew them, and the community continues to honor a life centered on family, generosity, and a love of sailing.
