Derrion Davidson, a passionate mental health advocate and talented poet, passed away yesterday, leaving family, friends, and his community in deep sorrow.

Known for his unwavering commitment to young people's mental health, Derrion served as a Mental Health Ward Representative and spoke at numerous forums and panels, including with organisations such as Rethink, where he shared lived experiences to inspire change.

From a young age, Derrion displayed an entrepreneurial spirit, roasting chestnuts at his own stall and later working alongside his father at Ting n Ting, where his kindness and warmth touched every customer.

Derrion’s love for creativity extended to poetry, leaving behind a collection of works he had been preparing for publication, reflecting his depth, passion, and dedication to leaving a meaningful legacy.

Friends and community members expressed heartfelt condolences online, remembering Derrion’s energy, generosity, and the positive influence he had on those around him. Regina Davidson, his sister, shared that the family is grateful for the support during this difficult time and hopes to honour Derrion by fulfilling his dream of publishing his poetry.
